Wow close minded much?

Yes. Not liking a slash pairing (that is hardly there) between a boy and a robot makes me close minded. I am the reason people can't legally marry their machines.

There's slash about everything these days. It's out there. My ex-roommate shipped a robot and a flying television. (Partially at my influence).

It's avoidable, so just avoid it.

And the question has to be asked: What about slash in other fandoms?

No wait, why am I close minded? Seriously?

"If you don't like it don't look at it" is kind of redundant when you're reading through a string of images in a place like this, because it's inevitably going to be read by somebody scrolling through. Where's the fun in having everybody agree with every secret here? I couldn't give a shit about slash, but I thought that secret was retarded and I wanted to disagree with it. oh no!

You're closed minded for denouncing a pairing because "OMG! It's not canon!"

There doesn't need to be subtext even for two characters to be slashed (although it makes it more fun).

There have been secrets about the same pairing since the movie came out and I never bothered with those, but it was this one that bugged me because I disagreed the statement "he is so gay for his car". If anyone could tell me where in the movie he is gay for his car then I'd be happy to agree, because there was none of that in the movie I saw. The secret lies! I disagree with lies!

why are people taking me seriously

because you dared disagree with the mechanical/boy buttsecks.

duh.

Shit yeah, next time I'll just reply to all the secrets here and go "YES"

Granted, though the "DON'T ALWAYS HAVE TO INVOLVE SLASH" implies that people are wrong for doing so, which is silly - or at the least just projecting your morals/values/beliefs onto others. Arguing against slash makes about as much sense as arguing against crackfic.

You have the right to disagree with the idea of romance between them, obviously, but there's people writing Bumblebee and Sam friendship fic probably as much as there are people writing Bumblebee/Sam romance and porn, so why can't both viewpoints coexist and you hang out where you're comfortable?

Re: 10

[identity profile] errorism.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
No no, that's kind of my point. I don't go looking for fics/art/whatever for that pairing, but I'm still seeing it everywhere, like here where I'm just happily scrolling through and then UH OH! For a bit more clarification, it's not the slash specifically that's making me cranky, it's that I didn't pick up any of the apparent overflowing gayness that Sam and Bumblebee have for each other in the movie.

I totally get your comment, I probably worded myself terribly in the initial comment because I wasn't actually trying to be serious in the first place. But now here I am trying to defend myself regarding a toy franchise and the gay love between a boy and his robot.

EEEEEE WHEELJACK F:LFKLJKL

...er, sorry. *cough*

Anyway, I'm usually pretty easy-going with justifications for my slash pairings, but "bestest friend ever" vibes will forever be easily turned into "sexin' like wild monkeys" vibes, so Bee/Sam didn't seem as far a jump as some pairings I've seen. Some things just bother me like that seems to bother you though, so I sympathize somewhat.

Ahahaha, yes, sorry for RUNNING IN TO ATTAAAACK, but then I got a Wheeljack-icon'ed response out of the deal, so I have no regrets. \o/

Re: 10

[identity profile] errorism.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
If Wheeljack isn't in a sequel or doesn't get a decent toy, there is something very wrong with the world. He is the SHIT and I'm really happy that someone else knows/likes him. Why doesn't he get any love? HIS EARS LIGHT UP WHEN HE TALKS!

I'm totally used to fandom turning all friendships into wild sexy funtime, but it just boggles my mind that people would seriously take Sam and Bumblebee that way, going from the movie. I mean the cartoons and comics are full of hilarious accidental (or not) gayness, but the movie was just so straight! With lots of explosions! And crushes on girls! Anyway, I'll keep avoiding the worrying fangirls.

It's sad because it's true. ♥

Ahahahahaha. Yes.

Re: 10

[identity profile] onefishjyuufish.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
WORD. Wheeljack is awesome. Geeky inventor 'bots are love. ALSO HIS EARS LIGHT UP YES, why does no one else think that this is a selling point I ask?

*looks at all your icons* ...homg it's like a page full of love and awesome. ♥

I suppose it really got me when I found something saying that the reason that they made Bumblebee mute in the movie was to show that he and Sam's relationship went "beyond words". And Sam's utter shock and horror at seeing Bee get hurt in the last fight and his "I won't leave you" just... Yeah. *belatedly flashes "worrying fangirl" badge*
