For not shipping Teal'c/Daniel? That's what I'm getting from the secret.

To be honest, while Teal'c had some great moments with pretty much everyone on the team I could never ship him with anyone. He's just too... Teal'c. I see him more as the biggest and baddest big brother figure out there with a healthy dose of best friend and comrade in arms.

Though it's weird, I don't really ship anyone in SG-1. Just give me all the BAMF BFF team!fic, I'll be happy.

Ok anon who is possibly trolling is the pic relevant or was that the best of Teal'c you had available? If you're complaining about shipping I personally didn't have a hard time finding Daniel/Teal'c. Not as much as Jack/Daniel, sure, but people like the dynamics they like. Sorry if it wasn't enough to suit your wants but that doesn't make us racist or dumb.

I agree Teal'c was underutilized in fiction earlier in the seasons but that was probably intimidation because we knew so little about him and considering all of his context is completely fictional we couldn't exactly extrapolate. Besides usually during shipping fics everyone else is only there to get the couple into the bedroom and to be fair it wasn't like early on he had that many lines on the show either.

(Um, does anyone remember the crackfic with the line "Teal'c, the potted plant, said nothing"?)

I was always so sad about this - Teal'c was my favourite character!

Also, I have been reading your comments further down and wanted to gush; Daniel's the only one I remember Teal'c calling by just their first name - and the first time was in the very third episode! Second time it sounded pretty sexy - sexy as he could have sounded while they were talking abut how Teal'c killed his wife, anyway!

I sort of agree. But I actually see it as a reflection of the show writers being racist (or dumb). The white boys were the most well developed fun characters in all of stargate (with Carter being an exception, but even she had a back seat to the Daniel and Jack show a lot of the time), so it makes sense that the fandom would focus on those fun and developed characters. So I don't think the fandom is purposely racist, if that makes sense, but more a racist reflection of racist writers.

That said...yea, I'm gonna agree with the above commenter that Teal'c seems more like a big brother to all of them than anything else, and I'm not sure how much enjoyment I would get reading fic of him being shipped with one of the other team members.

I was never into SG-1 all that much though, so maybe if I'd seen more of the series I'd feel differently. Who knowssss.

And your 'LOL RACIST IF YOU DON'T SHIP THIS' comment is uncalled for. Come on anon...ship and let ship, no need to start that.

That picture was literally the start of my first real ship. :) There were some real Teal'c/Daniel gems. Though I vastly preffered (and still do) BAMFy Stargate gen.

Again, I'm not all that interested in SG-1 and IDK about shipping Teal'c with anyone, but that picture screams 'angry sex' to me.

Teal'c is being mocked by the goa'uld who killed his father but they are at a peace summit and any act of violence negates the whole thing and Earth will be under attack. Daniel stops him from avenging his father with a light touch.

/I don't think I've had a pairing since with such a great dynamic and rich possibility.

Aww, poor Teal'c! I'd be tempted too! Good thing Daniel was there. (That IS sweet. And pretty shippy. Damn, you've put the idea in my head. Might try looking for fic when I get bored and just see how it is.)

Sadly most of my favorites have been taken down but there were still some good ones out there about four months ago. Though I do prefer the ones set earlier in season (not that I turn down any brothers in arm fic). Just earlier in season Teal'c always seemed so baffled and humbled (and a little fascinated) by Daniel's attitude towards him after everything that went down between them.

It's mostly fanon? But they really had their moments. Though I say this as someone who has all seasons on box set and watched them with another Teal'c/Daniel fan.

+1 on preferring the gen - especially team gen because you can't split up the team for the sake of pairings - it's got to be the whole team or it's no fun!
