Well I went to see it on opening day - I don't do it often - but 66.7 mil was tanking?

...well Toy Story 3 made $41 million Friday and $37 million Saturday and an estimated $31M Sunday on it's opening weekend, but that had an established following of nostalgic young adults...

I'd argue that 66.7 mil is good but not like "wow spectacular!"

So far Brave has made over $131 million dollars in the US alone and is the #8 movie by box office gross for 2012. I'd say it's doing fine.

I saw it. If it tanked it's because it's just not that good of a movie. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it very much felt like it the target audience was seven-year-olds. Nothing wrong with that, but after movies like Toy Story (plus 2 & 3), UP, Wall-E, etc. I've come to expect a higher quality storytelling arc from Pixar. I expect there to be a story for kids, and another story that mostly only adults pick up on. Brave didn't have that. Brave was a very straightforward story about a somewhat boring "rebelling" princess.

It wasn't bad. Merida was cool. I'm super excited to have a Pixar heroine finally. It was a good story. It just wasn't great.

I actually liked it better than most Pixar movies. That said, I've never been a huge Pixar fan. That said, success doesn't necessarily hinge on quality- otherwise Twilight would have done so poorly there wouldn't be a sequel.
