Granted, Makorra is such a hot mess that it lasting forever is even more problematic than the usual teen romance fare.

Pretty much. Makorra at that point in time is problematic, let alone lasting forever.

My most sincere hope for the opening moments of season two is Korra finding out how Mako treated Asami, dumping his arse, and she and Asami becoming the best of best friends.

Okay, and picking up the actual plot would be nice. But mostly that.

Finding out? Korra already knew that Mako was stringing Asami along, considering she was the one that Mako was messing around with.

I wish that she realize that she's so much better than that shit and Asami and her turn into epic BFFs.

Well, I was thinking more specifically of the argument they had in episode ten, with all the blame-shifting (no, seriously, Mako, please don't blame Bolin) and ugliness going on there? Not to mention that she was captured and/or unconsicous for a lot of the more... demonstrativeness.

But yeah. Mako needs to be fired. Preferably out of a cannon.
