i want to see more fic that takes place after the happily-ever-after. when the supposedly end-game couple realises they're incompatible, they hate eachother, and they have a messy breakup that is nothing like the ~fairytale ending~ they had in canon.

i can see this working with korrasami. they both realise mako's a jerk, ditch him, and run off together.

Oh yeeess that too! Korra, Asami, and Bolin all deserve better tbh.

part of me's hoping that mako manages to redeem himself eventually. i don't want to dislike him as much as i do, and i think he has potential to be a much better/more interesting character. but mostly, i'm just tired of his rampant jerk-arsery taking up too much screentime.

Same here. I want to like Mako, and I want him to be redeemed, but his behavior this season has made me hate him. He could have been so much better, this fandom could've adored him, but nope the creators had to ruin his character with the love triangle.

I think developing his character apart from Makorra will be the best path towards his character's redemption

developing characters apart from the love triangle would do so much good for the entire show. it should never have taken up so much screentime tbh.

i also hate how asami is so fascinating and has so much potential and she's kind of been shoved in a tiny box for the sake of the love triangle. she's had such awesome moments of badass and i want more of that.

the only part that sucks is now that makorra are canon, the writers are going to need to wring some more drama out of them to keep people interested, so we might never hear the end of them.

Yes, developing all 4the teens apart from the love trriangle (or not having it at all) would've done a world of good fo the first season!

And totally agree about Asami too. So much wasted potential for not only her but Bolin and Mako as well.

Agreed! I've written something like that before, although it wasn't so much a high school romance, just a really popular pairing that I did not believe in. Suffice to say it did not get good reception. But I was happy I had done it, and I'd like to see more that isn't outright character bashing.
