You seriously think everyone thinks about sending death threats? That's messed up. I may have not so nice thoughts like wishing people would fail or have bad luck or whatever but I never wish death or want to threaten people with death. What the hell.

It would read differently if OP was all "yeah now I realize how much of an overreaction that was and feel bad" but no, they instead still wish they sent this person death threats. That's fucked up.

So you've seriously never thought, in response to someone you hate, "goddamn I wish that motherfucker would just drop dead?"

Nope, never have. Am I really that much of an oddity? That kind of horrifies me. I don't see myself as some saint or something, I have negative thoughts towards people but never death wishing level.

No, you're not at all. No idea why the ayrt seems to seriously believe that most people are walking around wishing death on others.

Huh, I think that means you're more nicer than most of us. Just about everyone I knew at least has a thought about a certain person ending up dead or worse. I kinda wish what your life was like when you were young.

My life was fucking awful when I was young. I was a miserable child that made sure everyone hated me as much as I hated myself. A lot of that had to do with a childhood disease and the medication I was on, which I outgrew and was medication free around 17. Since then I've changed a lot. I remember having regular fits and tantrums where I'd scream "I hope you all die!" a lot but I never really thought or believed it. What I was actually thinking was "I wish I would die", but I was a messed up kid that didn't know how to articulate the ridiculous amount of depression and mixed up feelings I was having.

...which is probably more than you wanted to know. lol

Nah, it's alright. Besides, my life isn't all happy smiles and blooming roses. Ever since primary school I've been bullied and teased by my classmates (being the smallest boy in class doesn't help either) and there have been times when I say when I'm alone "I wish you all would just DIE!"

Unfortunately, the same bullies are also the clowns of my class, making the other students and teachers laugh. As a result, I have a really weird and f-ed up personality complex when it comes to bullies. I'm now in college and I've been generally better phsychologically than in my teen years, but there are times (like this secret) when my past memprices would come back to my head.

Yeouch. Looks like I let off quite some steam here.

Wow. You don't see at all why that's pretty creepy? Because no, that's not normal. The ayrt doesn't necessarily lead some fairy tale charmed life just because they don't wish death on other people.

Actually now that I think about it, it does say something about yourself. But for most part, I don't see it as creepy as there are many people around me (particularly the smaller ones) who at least has grunge on someone because they bullied them when they were smaller (or take matters into their own hands). I guess I've heard this so much in my life that I have become used to it, I suppose.

Oh, and I think I might say where I come from. I'm from Malaysia and over here, bullying is a VERY serious problem.. There have been cases where the bullied have to undergo hospital treatment, commit suicide or take matters into their own hands ( of retaliating with weapons or knives). Things have been better over the past few years but there's still the occasional case or two.

I agree. Not trying to sound saintly or anything, but I don't think I've ever seriously wished death or wanted to threaten death upon a human being. I can't even kill roaches without feeling bad! I find it hard to even feel intense dislike. I think maybe this a little out of the norm, though.

For what it's worth, I feel bad about killing cockroaches, but I don't feel bad about having death wishes about people who did something I consider very wrong.
Because it's only in my mind and it's cathartic. Much better than keeping the anger inside me and being tempted to act on it.

Of course, one of the reasons I never act on those death wish is because no moron has been bad enough to be worth spending my life in jail.

Yeah, this. I've thought it a lot just in passing, but I don't usually mean it. I think one of the few times I've ever genuinely wanted some motherfucker to just drop dead or fall on a knife or something was against the man who murdered my cousin. I still wish he would die, and I can't say I feel guilty about it.

Um. I guess both, really. Not that I think thoughtless (or even purposeful) venting is wrong, but I don't really get death-wish-angry. Or, really angry even. I mostly just get incredulous and, maybe, slightly irritated for a little while. My Pavlovian response to someone being an asshat is to be either super nice and apologetic or to just ignore their asshattery. Oh, I love the ways customer service brainwashes you!

For me when I get incredibly angry exaggeration is the quickest way to calm down. I blow the situation out of proportion, get everything off my chest, realize how ridiculous I sound and then actually address the problem. I wouldn't actually want the person dead but there is something satisfying about thinking it really loudly.

Glad I'm not the only one! Sure, if someone is mean to me, etc. I may think, "What a jerk!", but I've never thought to myself, "I wish that person would die!"

I know a lot of people are arguing for the OP, saying, "Haven't you ever had a nasty thought towards someone?" Sure, I have, and I'm certainly no Saint either... but I'll have my "nasty thought" once and then it's done. I don't revisit that thought over and over again after the fact!

Then I'll be evil with you.

Maybe we should start an evil brotherhood? Sisterhood? Allkindofpeoplehood?
