Seems reasonable, especially if it's generic names. I only VERY occasionally read Jpop fanfic, but if something was tagged, say, Kanon/Saki I'd be like "which ones??" If the fandom isn't clear, it should be made clearer.

I'd assume S/mileage at that pairing xD

I would too, but I was just thinking of idol groups/things with names that are the same. Because at one point there were three Sakis in Hello!Project and now there are two Kanons.

(I have no desire to read S/Mileage fic, so idek XD )

Sometimes it gets really confusing reading J-Pop forums and blogs because of that. If I see the name Kanon without any last name, picture, or group, I'm going to automatically think of Zukki, but there are also Kanons in S/mileage and SKE48, and I won't realize that either of them is the subject of something until part of the way through reading something!

(lol me neither. I think I'm one of very few H!P fans who doesn't really care about S/mileage. Also, they are too young to read fic about.)

If I saw just "Kanon" I'd probably think of Zukki and if I saw Saki I'd probably think Ogawa Saki, just because Nakky and Captain are too common of nicknames. Probably one of the best things the 48 groups did for Jpop fans is the fact that every member has a set, distinct nickname, so even though there are three Tomomis in AKB48 you will probably just see Tomochin, Tomo~mi and Tomochan, which makes things a bit easier.

For me S/Mileage are too young. I love S/Mileage, especially 2nd generation S/Mileage (especially Meimi, queen of the trolls), but I'd feel like a creep reading anything remotely like fanfic for them. Conversely, I feel absolutely OK reading Ishiyoshi fic.
