Just going to point out not everyone is able to go see movies on opening weekend (which is kinda beside the point you're trying to make, I know; and I honestly do agree with your main point). It's easier for me now in the area I live in currently, but when I was living back east... we went to see Transformers opening night and just stepping into the theatre, there was such a cloud of perfume and cologne that I thought I was going to have to go to the ER for the massive migraine I got (as it was I had to take double my usual dose of migraine medication I'm prescribed). (I am SO FUCKING GLAD for living in a yuppie crunchy granola area because it means if people are wearing perfume, it's natural stuff like BPAL, which doesn't set off my migraines.)

That's on top of the anxiety of being in a large crowd, which I often don't want to deal with. I'll wait a few days and see it mid-week when there are less people.

That being said, I'm not really convinced that seeing a movie opening weekend is totally activism ;)
