The last season was all together a piece of shit, so it's totally fine to be upset.

Is it bad I didn't even recognize him as Wilson when I first saw this secret?

oh, no, he didn't die, he took a magic potion and healed; House and he moved to Mexico where Wilson is still a doctor and House plays the piano in a bar. That's my theory and no one will change my mind.

Now I have a picture in my head of House as the guy in the song "Piano Man" and it will not go away.

Well, at the end of the series, Wilson was dying, not dead. It is possible, and likely given what we were presented with, that Wilson will die at the end of five months, potentially before. It has been established that Wilson is clinically depressed, and he may end up committing suicide.

That being said, remission is still a possibility (always is), there's still a chance he'll agree to chemo (especially if it's for House's sake, because, as the saying goes, "People don't change," meaning Wilson might continue to put others before himself), there's a chance he might agree to cancer drug trials (again, for House's sake, as per the previous reason), and it's also possible that House's obsessive nature will drive him to finding the cure for cancer. Who knows.

The series is over, yes, and there are rather likely going to be individuals who will say "It doesn't matter, just forget about it." But fandom, is in a sense, an escape and a hobby that many do enjoy. But really, with the manner in which David Shore left the finale, no one is dead. Not even Thirteen. He has even said in interviews that he has left what happens after the series end to be determined within the minds of fans.

...You just gave me some realistic reasons to believe that Wilson might have lived. Thanks. :')

as far as i'm concerned there was some kind of asspull where he ended up beating the cancer.

I for one refuse to accept David Shore's version as how it necessarily happens. Hurts too much. I'm living in this fic's world instead.

As much as what happened to Wilson sucked...I really liked the ending. But I'm a bit morbid and always assume that if Wilson didn't get chemo or died soon anyway, that House would commit suicide afterward; I liked that version. (I know, I know, it just made sense to me.)

That said, I also live in a happy world where Wilson was saved by a fairy or perhaps a curaga spell, and he and House spend the rest of their days having badass ~whimsical~ adventures and gay sex.

Whatever makes you happy, OP.

(And I'm sure there are legit ways he could've lived longer, so...there's still hope? He didn't die on screen, THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.)

i try to pretend it hasn't really happened D:

I loved the ending (not the finale, that was just ok) because we're allowed to imagine what happens next. I definitely don't want a movie reunion or anything like that, because then they'll need to come up with an appropriately House-ian conclusion to this story. Since most people seem to agree that would include killing off Wilson, I'd really rather that didn't happen.

Count me among those that think the H/W road trip will have magical healing powers or at least the power to make Wilson reconsider treatment. I've seen some very good fics dealing with this already. I hope there will be more.

I'm still pissed as fuck that they gave him cancer out of fucking nowhere. That was one of the most stunningly shameless last-minute ~for-the-drama moves I've ever seen. But I still kinda loved the finale because awwwwww. ♥

and since it's july already he has only 3 mounth to live.

For some reason (probably because it's the middle of the night and I should be in bed right now, but instead I'm here and my brain is doing weird things) I thought that was Chuck Norris for like a split second before I registered who it actually was.

Anyway. David Shore has said that what happened after the finale is up to everyone to decide for themselves, so my version is that he somehow lived, whether it be from chemo, some super risky/dramatic cure House discovered, or just spontaneous remission, and they lived happily ever after.
