Oh my gosh, me too. Harvest Moon games are still fun!

Oh god, and I've recently gotten back to playing my Harvest Moon DS Cute and restarting a new game so I could court a Mineral Town bachelor instead. I am OBSESSED AND I LOVE THE GAMES.
I would even play this while I was at my barn. It's as bad as playing Nintendogs when you have an actual dog.

Why not? Who really cares if it was a video game that got you started? If you decided to give up everything in your life, buy a farm, move out there to start your life as a farmer and then half-ass everything because "I didn't think farming was actually going to be hard work!" that's one thing, but other than that, is it really going to be such a big deal?

I don't see it as being necessary to tell anyone, but I really fail to see this as being someone's "deep, dark secret that they can never tell ANYONE."

Man I used to garden all the time when I was little and I was good at it. After obsessing over Harvest Moon games for years I got inspired to garden again recently.

It...is NOT as easy as I remember. I think Harvest Moon has spoiled me. XD It makes one forget that it takes more than one swing of a hoe to prepare the soil.

At least it helps you remember when the veggies and fruits are in season! :) Good luck OP!

hahaha, I just started a new game in more friends of mineral town, so I'm definitely feeling the HM love right now. I'm kinda disappointed with the direction the new games have gone in, but I still enjoy them.

Harvest Moon 64 for life! Haha! I used to ship Jack/Cliff like so much painful burning, we went for the hot air balloon ride once when he was "king" and it made me squeal my face off. The HM games are awesome.

I just recently started a new game in More Friends Of Mineral Town, and, as per my usual, I'm courting Kai. He's my favorite, I can't go after anyone else!

I've been thinking about getting Sunshine Islands... I've never played any of the DS games, so I might get DS Cute as well. I've loved the HM games ever since I was a kid. We (myself and my older sister) took our Playstation into a game shop to make sure it was working properly. The shop assistant put in a copy of Back To Nature, to test it, and forgot to take it out.So when we got home, there was this game we'd never heard of before!

We used to fight over who could play. Aaah, memories. The games are so fun and addictive!

Also, I'm glad to see some/more people getting into farming, and that you got into it through a fairly accessible source. Lord knows we need some new blood, and not just through the ag majors/generational farmers.

Hello!

The farm is mostly pigs with a side of crop turnover. I work with the pigs myself, so don't focus much on the crops (cotton I think? someone else's job).
I got into it through an apprenticeship. The newspaper was talking about the lack of people and how TAFE was offering training and internships a few years back. Now I work there fulltime and plan to make it my career. Maybe get my own farm one day (and you can better believe I'm going to imitate HM and get some chickens and alpacas).

I kind of hope one day HM will have pigs in it now because I'll probably get a ridiculous smile on my face.

AGREED! I LOVE Harvest Moon 64. I've also been looking for Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the PS1 (I might have the title wrong, but the game was for the PS1) forfuckingever, and I haven't been able to find it.

You can play PS1 games on PS2, right?
