The controls on Mass Effect are unusual and a little hard to get used to. My advice is to take it slow, make sure you wander around everywhere (with your gun out, lol), talk to everyone, and make lots of saves. Oh and if you have a mind to do such things, play on easy difficulty the first time around. It really does make a difference.

The story in Mass Effect is the best part of the game, IMHO, and is most definitely worth it.

I've played it over several times and it's probably my favourite game ever, feel free to ask if you have any questions :)

Thanks so much! Talking to people really helps, yeah. I might start my file over to do a more thorough talking-to with the people on the ship since I kind of skipped some of those, I think? And work on the map thing and stuff too...
