Rare Pairings

Feeling all alone in fandom? What pairings do you ship that are often ignored either because the Juggernaut Pairing takes up all the oxygen or because there is little to no basis for it in canon.

I'm a big fan of:
Daniel/Kawalsky (Stargate SG-1)
Bright/Colin (Everwood, bonus if it's Bright/unrequited Colin)
Josh/Kenny (The West Wing)
Sam/Mallory (The West Wing -- this one I really think must be a victim of the juggernaut)

Janos/Azazel from X-Men First Class--it's such a small pairing cause they're such minor characters, so that makes sense. But I spend a lot of time just drowning in the sheer amount of Charles/Erik that I need something that has nothing to do with either of them. Ever.

Teen Wolf and all the ships not called Sterek. Shipping Scott/anyone is especially lonely :'( (pack mama stiles does nothing for me. But pack mama scott? Perfection.)

Lots. I'm notorious (among a very small group of people XD) for shipping Walter/Seras in Hellsing. Also I like Kimahri/Rikku in Final Fantasy X. And Frank/Cynthia in Silent Hill 4, which is maybe the most ridiculous as they never met as far as anyone can tell. (I also like Cynthia/Eileen, and the same there.)

In all those cases I'd say they're rare due to little or no canon basis.

Dazzler/Psylocke. I actually ship several rare pairings from several different fandoms, but this is the only one I have found absolutely no fic for. Most of my other rare pairings have at least a few other supporters. Dazzler/Psylocke? Nothing. Which saddens me.

Tumblr has made me intrigued by the idea of Richard/Margaret on Boardwalk Empire, and I shipped Auggie/Jai for like five minutes on Covert Affairs (and now I LOVE Lena/Joan, not to mention Annie/Sif [or whatever her character's name was...this show is full of awesome ladies, ngl]). And I refuse to put down my torch for Deb/Cira on Dexter, even though we...haven't seen her in a year or more. >______> OH, OH, and totally Dean/Cassie from SPN. That's right, "Route 666." Deal with it. Dumb episode, but amazing pairing, way better than Dean/Lisa. And Gus/Max on Breaking Bad! It's basically canon, yo!!

And I love weird crossovers. Today I saw an Irene Adler/Alice Morgan graphic and now I cannot get it out of my head. <33333

Supernatural: Adam/anyone, Adam/Michael, Sam/Adam/Dean. Yes...I like Adam. Though I bribed a lot of people to like him with me, so it's not too hard to find some awesome stuff anymore. Also, Jeffrey/his demon (I ship oneshot characters and DO NOT FEEL SHAME).

Teen Wolf: I love almost every canon and non-canon ship. I like Derek/Stiles, too, but it steals so much thunder from all the other pairings; it's the juggernaut mentioned in the thread above. My favorite person to read about (...don't ask) is Isaac. I love Jackson/Isaac, Derek/Isaac, Stiles/Isaac, Scott/Isaac, Lydia/Isaac...pretty much Isaac/everyone but Erica, whom I see as very sibling-y with him. I also love both Lydia/Jackson and Danny/Jackson, and although it's always borderline creepy, Peter/Lydia. ...I didn't lie. MY SHIP HAS ALL THE FLAGS, OKAY?

Suits: Louis/Harold. Anyone? Anyone at all? No, just me? BUT HE LET HAROLD TAKE CARE OF HIS CAT. ;____;

...I love rarepairs. Find a rarepair in my fandoms and I'm guaranteed to ship it. XD

Haha, my rare pairing is basically my OTP. (Haplo/Alfred from Death Gate). It's not popular because the series itself isn't as popular, even though I personally think there's a huge amount of basis in the canon, particularly starting in book three. (Maybe even book 1 if you're over-analyzing all of their interactions like me). I don't think I've been more in love with a friendship in media then with these two, which just gets more shiptastic as it goes on. And when Alfred is missing in book five (authors, why?) Haplo is just thinking about him half the time anyway, and MISSING him. D: Heck, they shared SOULS. They have a closer connection to each other than anyone else, even Haplo's own love interest, Marit, which is interesting because this was outright stated in the last book too when Alfred is talking with Haplo via mind link and Marit can't hear any of their conversation.

And the moment when Haplo finally admits that he thinks of Alfred as a dear friend it's like...ow, my heart. Antagonistic enemies turned best friends is a lovely thing. I almost want Wies and Hickman to write a sequel with them again, but considering they actually did for another stand-alone series of theirs (Darksword) and it was... pretty bad, yeah. Do I sound obsessive? Yeah, a little. I can't help it. Apologies. I really need fanfic.

I do have a couple of other rare pairs, but I guess this is the one I care about the most. *is a sad, sad individual*

...WTF. I don't even understand why. I've never even seen them written. I ship both like burning, though. Why so many sexy old guys, One Piece? WHY?

As for pairings I'm not as confused by, but am deeply aware of the senselessness of:

My pairing is rare, because, well...it's from the 80's and it's also carebears;p LOL I've been shipping it ever since I was a kid, though. There's just something about Dark Heart and Christy that I find insanely cute. Especially if he gets his evil!powers back /cough/ >__>

Nicci/Darken (Legend of the Seeker): Everything is either Kahlan/Darken (which I also ship) or Cara/Darken (which I can't do because of the consent issues that get ignored). There are like three fics for this pairing.

A lot of rare Potter slash ships that used to at least get written but barely show up anymore (Harry/Ron, Harry/Lucius, Harry/Neville). Also Neville/Ginny and Neville/Hermione. There really should be more Neville shippy fics out there.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom, I ship everything basically. So while I love all the juggernaut ships, there are quite a few rare pairings that I really want to see or see more of. Particularly Thor/Cap, Thor/Tony, Natasha/Cap, Natasha/Tony, Natasha/Bruce, and Thor/Sif.

Scott/Allison/Stiles on Teen Wolf. I'm getting so many OT3 feelings for them this season, now that Scott is a much better best friend, Stiles and Allison are teaming up to do things, and Scott and Allison have (seemingly) mellowed out and gotten way cuter as a couple.
