Not-so-serious answer: Troll.

Serious answer: I would say uh, definitely not? Tony maybe, MAYBE, but I think he'd be more likely to be an independent. He's socially liberal and.. well, he made his living for how many years off of government spending? So I doubt he's much of a fiscal conservative. I can see him voting Republican in a "who the fuck cares, this guy will save me more money" kind of way (because Tony cares about his money, sort of, sometimes, probably when he's in the mood to send in his absentee voter shit), but if he actually thought it out I think he'd be more liberal. Of course, asking Tony Stark to think it out... well.

(Alternatively, he'd get drunk and vote for the Green party and kick himself for the next week because dude, what, what the fuck did I just even do, they don't even COUNT, what the fuck.)

Steve would definitely be a Democrat. Sorry, true. I can't see him standing with the party that wants to take away social aid programs like food stamps and welfare, and lower salaries for people like teachers and firefighters. I can't see him standing with a party who wants to take away women's freedoms and rights, and which opposes the rights of POCs, women, and LGBT people. He might have been a Republican back in the day, before Republican meant Tea Party and Religious Right and End All Social Welfare Programs, but sure as hell not now. Steve wouldn't stand for racism, sexism, homophobia and classism. No way.

...do I even need to bring up why Bruce would be a hardcore Democrat, if not outright Green party supporter? Come on. The dude is all for helping people. He would NOT support a party that doesn't believe in welfare programs and thinks of the poor and sick as leeches and criminals.

Thor would not give a single shit. He also wouldn't be able to register to vote. Technically, he's an illegal immigrant!

Clint has lived poor and struggled most of his life. I seriously doubt he'd want to inflict that on other people. So if he paid attention to politics at all (doubtful) he'd probably vote Democrat, but register Independent.

Natasha can't vote in this country either. If she could, she wouldn't.

Fury and Coulson I... honestly don't care enough about to analyze, sorry.

Full disclaimer before someone accuses me of being an Evul Commie Democrat Pinko Nazi Liburyl Scumbag: I'm a socialist, fuck off. <3

Stark would go on a bender and when he came out of it, Nader would somehow be president. No one knows how the fuck Tony pulled it off.

omg yes

Bruce would congratulate him

and he'd be like "WAIT WHAT.

"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED.

"IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE I CAN REMEMBER."

I reeeeeally want to see fic of this now. Maybe someone will request it over on avengerkink.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I completely agree with this analysis. I think Tony might have been closer to a Republican pre-Iron Man, but after being held hostage by his own weapons and seeing first-hand what the government has been doing? Not so much a Republican anymore.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exactly. I could see him being a Republican in the past -- even if it was just because that's how his family voted, that's what he's used to, they support more war and more weapon sales and that's good for the company and keeps the shareholders off his back while he does actual work thank you. But after what happened in Afghanistan, etc. I can see him taking a good hard look at the Republican party and realizing that he doesn't like what he sees at all.
