This is only half of the reasons I hated this movie. Nothing made sense.
I don't give a rat's ass about Indy getting married, I was happy he married Marion, she was certainly the most badass ladies of the franchise.

Honestly, I loved the ninjas-from-rainforest and the zombie Ninja's. My favourite part was the jeep chase with Cate Blanchett. It's not high art, but it entertained me.

Lol yeah, ripping out beating hearts via use of black magic and melting Nazis is probably more believable than surviving in a fridge.
And quite frankly: I'd happily trade all the racist bullshit in Temple of Doom for the aliens in Crystal Skull.
