honestly, i really am just more impressed by fanart than fanfic. i feel like it takes more practice and skill (i could be wrong, i mean, i don't do either) and just find it more awe-inspiring when really good. i have never read a fanfic where i thought 'wow, that was incredible'; i've never read a fanfic that was on the level of any of the professionally published books i've read (i don't read crap like 50 shades of gray jsyk). on the other hand i've seen a ton of fanart i would pay money for prints of.
