I just wanted to say that I feel what you're saying so hard with this secret. There IS a general double standard in fandom. I can't speak for all fandoms, but for the ones I've seen? Absolutely. Some people don't bat an eye at the thought of buying fanart. The other week, I came across someone selling their fanart on eBay ffs. But buying fanfiction? Well, that's just OMGSOWRONG. How many people do you see selling their fic in the ARTIST'S ALLEY of a convention? Personally, I'd much rather own physical copies of my favorite fics vs. my favorite fanart.

But anyway, I get it. I'll never understand it, but boy, do I get it.
