You can feel superior all you want, however it makes you look rather ignorant from my point of view. There's a difference between IC and OOC, and people actually converse with RP partners. It is possible to find attraction to a person for who they are, not who their character is.

5. Most of these secrets do not include that clause where other conversation/interaction induces said love. Most of them say they fell in love through Role Play. Falling in love with the illusion, the fantasy, that's stupid.

I'm amused by how everyone is quick to jump forward and defend this. Methinks some people doth protest too much.

On that matter I have to agree with you. Falling in love with someone's fictional character, when it's just a game is pretty stupid, they are not their character. My point being that there is a difference, and falling in love with a fellow RPer is not falling in love with said RPer's character.

Lots of people do not bother to distinguish. Folly of youth or something like that. If I seem arrogant about it, I am. Not falling for such a common trap tends to give one some feeling of superiority. So what?

1. I'm just a little younger or just a few years older than many of my fandom friends. I'm at an interesting place where I'm teased cause I'm younger or teased cause I'm older. I will never be able to be the old wise fandom friend ^_^;; And I seem to intimidate some of the younger people. I'm not scary! Really!

4. Yeah, that's kinda creepy. When people carry over their role play into other activities, I get a little weirded out.

8. I just started playing pokemon and it's eaten my soul. My friends look at me funny, but it's fun! So screw what they say, I like pokemon and some of them are so damn cute!

1. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm way older than all my fandom friends, and I don't really fit in with them. I wonder if they think I'm creepy or weird for being so old and still being into fandom.
