I'm a Christian, and I normally dislike reading/watching religious themed stories, because they tend to sacrifice "good storytelling" for "preaching".

But this is one film I remember fondly, because it managed to make me sympathise with all the characters.

I hope you at least read the original, because PoE is the equivalent of Hercules or Mulan in historical accuracy and faithfulness to the story. The second Pharaoh's not that bad of a guy- he's willing to let the Hebrews go but God keeps toying with him because he wants to get back at the Egyptains for enslaving the Hebrews...even though he led them to slavery. It's a fucked up story.
