If it makes you feel better: Not all teacher/student relationships are based on power imbalance or a abusive dynamic. I sort of had a thing with a teacher in college,and it was voluntary, and it's not like I'm traumatized by it.

My best friend got it on with her 58 year old teacher and five years later they are still dating. She's perfectly fine. Through her I met more girls who were dating their ex teachers and they're all fine, thank god the moral panic there in America doesn't exist here.

I once got it on with a teacher, but it was a one-time thing and it never went further than that. I imagine dating one's own teacher would be quite awkward... Not that I condemn it or anything.

I think dating a teacher *while* you're dating can be problematic, especially if you are in a classroom setting where others can be made to feel awkward. Once you're not that person's student anymore, though, I don't see why people make such an issue out of it.

I knew (I don't see her anymore at all) a woman who started dating, after graduation, someone who worked at the school (not QUITE a teacher, but close to one). They didn't date at all before she graduated, and they're still married 7 years later (and they only had about 10 years age difference, nothing big) but the moral outrage was so strong that the guy had to leave his job, which was a real bummer since he was a super great guy and everyone loved him.

Idk, while I kind of get it, with circumstances the way they were (small age difference, dating after graduation, very discrete about it) I wish he didn't have to leave his job.

This drawing style looks really familiar for some reason. Who's the artist? Did they by any chance used to do a webcomic or something?

There's nothing wrong with liking certain scenarios or shipping certain characters together, but if you are publicly judging other people for those same things that you secretly like, that's not cool.

Teacher/student is just another common fiction scenario that that some people really like, just like high school AUs.

I wouldn't say I publicly judge anyone over it, it's just that it normally squicks me and I've been vocal about the reasons why I don't normally read these sorts of ships.

I think the only reason I like this particular one is that the female character is from my own pov.
