If your bf on any kind of medication? Specifically for mood disorders?

No. He has ADD, and was...well, he says he was molested by a cousin as a child (One of his excuses...) but that's it. He says he's not passive aggresive, though. He's just "A simple guy" as he puts it. Sigh.

Anon that threatened suicide to her boyfriend here--I was actually molested as a kid, too, so maybe it's a common...need for control thing?

Still, being abused doesn't give you an excuse to being abusive to other people. I hope he gets help, but please don't let him treat you this way, Anon! I hope everything goes okay.

Maybe...What he said (TMI) is that he was with his cousin and a few of her friends at a slumber party or something. She asked him to have sex with her/her friends, and he did. (He was twelve, she was a few years older, I think)

Eek. I can understand why that would screw him up. I definitely think he should seek help, but...yeah, it still doesn't excuse his actions.

And it's okay, I think I'm slowly learning to move on from it. The suicide threats and such were a long time ago! I'm still not the greatest person, but I think I'm getting better and finally learning how to treat other people better. I hope the same for your boyfriend.

Your comments are actually really uplifting to me, anon. I have done some very emotionally manipulative/abusive things, and only hindsight (and, sadly, a little experience at the other end of the situation) made me realize exactly what I was doing. At the time, I felt (irrationally) desperate and alone and my pov was too warped to realize that what I was doing was truly wrong - or at least, it felt justified in that I thought I had no other option. Fortunately, I sought and found help and also grew up a lot. I want to be a truly good person who doesn't treat anyone like that anymore and I think I've made leaps and bounds. But it sucks to know you were once that person.

Please try and persuade him to get counselling for sexual abuse, then. He does not have the right to hurt other people just because someone hurt him.
