I'm not in the Batman fandom at all but whenever soemthing like this comes up in media I wonder why people actually still live there xD

Reminds me of a line from the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson version of Batman (yes, way way back) where Jack says something along the lines of "good people shouldn't live in Gotham - they'd be happier somewhere else."

I liked that movie sooooo much more than the Nolan series. Didn't care for the sequels, but that one movie was close to perfect, considering it wasn't reaching for anything higher than a comic book story.

Gotham's implied to have a lot of low income families/people, so a lot of them probably *can't* leave.

In "No Man's Land" it's mentioned at least once that a lot of the people who stayed behind despite the city being disowned by the US stayed because they couldn't afford to leave.

And the wealthier people would live in the safer areas and might not feel the need to move.
