Holy shit OP, I have all of these books too. While I'm sure plenty of other people have read and enjoyed them, I've never met another person who has before. I think I have all the special edition cookbooks and survival books, too (and the ones about her daughter, rose??)

Not OP, but I love love love the Little House books. :) My sister has the cookbook somewhere...

Book rec! The Wilder Life by Wendy McClure. The author is a huge fan of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and, as an adult, decides to visit all the home sites and try things like churning her own butter. It's written in a humorous, sort of blog-style tone, and a fairly quick read. My book club read it last month.

Oooh, I will have to check that out!! Since we are recommending books, Sweeping up glass is very good! Well, actually the first fifty pages or less bored me to tears so I almost gave up, but right after that, it got SO GOOD like wow. It's by Carolyn D. Wall and it takes place in the 30's and it's "mature" in a good way. It tackles social issues of that time that are still relavent today, and it's got an endearing plot with interesting characters.

Okay, I know just who's getting that for Christmas - thanks for the rec!
