Re: Real-world terminology in fake-world fanfics

Branding is my major irk factor.

The second anyone goes 'Hey let's stop at Jamba Juice before seeing the new Spiderman movie!' is the second I hit the back button.

...On a slightly related note, the world of my major fandom involves clocks for hearts and time out of order so any time someone talks about a certain amount of time, like an hour or minute, or says someone's 'clock skips a beat' it bugs me because it feels like the author has overlooked the whole point of the canon... And I've had to rip out chunks and rewrite bits of my own ficcage to ensure I don't make the same mistake. (I never realized how often one uses phrases like 'wait a second' until a second no longer existed. @.@)
