Nope. Because the internet doesn't like it when people are allowed to have nice things. It causes a disturbance in the universe.

Idk, I'm mostly a fandom of me and my best friend and her boyfriend and occasionally my little brother, so I understand how you feel. I'm too frightened to really look at anything fandom related that's not modded by the folks at "My Little Brony" on memebase. The brony fandom is massive, and most of it is. . .terrifying and rude. They don't hide or tag their porn or swearing or gore, and it's very annoying that I can't even safe search names of ponies or go to the My Little Pony tag on tumblr without finding shitloads of porn.

I remember feeling so hopeful and teary eyed when I first heard about the show and the brony fandom (back when there were only a few episodes of the first season aired).

I was all "aw, maybe there will be some less misogyny in the internet after all! C:"

I'm guessing Lauren Faust still defends them because she still feels that level of hopefulness? Afterall she is a cartoonist in the industry, and if guys can watch her "girly stuff" then its all good in her eyes; to heck with how the fandom treats other people @__@

I remember on a thread of ponychan somebody mentioned how they lost all their MLP images on their hard-drive, so I linked them to some character-specific tumblrs that I had seen had a lot of cute pictures.

Imagine my surprise when I returned to the thread the next day and my comment was deleted, with the only clue being one or two comments expressing shock about a zombie Rarity picture. So I went to the tumblr, and, yup, in the very first page there was this creepy picture of a decaying Rarity, sandwiched by the cute pictures, as if it was perfectly normal. I think it had some tags and such to mark it, but, just like the ones marking "porn", "epilepsy warning", "nsfw", etc., they're not helpful in the least unless you're using tumblr savior.

Even then that tumblr was the good kind where they tag stuff, many just don't :/ It's unfortunate really.

And if you ask someone to tag their stuff, they just go "lol don't look". Assuming they don't just flame you.
