Anything by Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore. Sure, some of their work is good, but I can't see any of them as "graphic novel milestones".

I really hate Alan Moore for those reasons, his stories always start out interesting but he ends up losing me towards the end. His style is just also not my thing and I think he's extremely overrated.

Neil Gaiman I like more because he's more my style but people way over hype his stuff as well.

I've loved a lot of things by both of them (and disliked others), and I know this isn't the point of the thread, but I'm curious what you do see as "graphic novel milestones". I'm always looking for recs. :)
