I do because I have to. It's also the smartest choice for me right now.

With the economy the way it is I find it really stupid to judge someone based on where they live. I mean, it's possible there are some people out there who just don't want to leave their mommy's house and want their parents to take care of them forever and not have to work etc. but really? Why should you care? Unless you're planning to marry this person it's none of your business.

If I had a job that gave me a steady enough income to support myself alone, I would love to move out of my mom's house, but as it is, I would only be leaving to make myself financially dependent on someone else, and I would rather be That Child for a few years than That Friend.

Yes to your second paragraph, came here to say this.

With the economy the way it is we really need to stop having a social stigma against living with one's parents. It can even go beyond economic reasons like if the child or one of the parents is ill and needs assistance. Actually there could be a lot of benefits for family units to stay together.

And I don't even live with my parents (nor want to) but I can still see how it can be needed.
