I don't get most of the mafia classics; The Godfather series, Good Fellas, Scarface. They just bore me to death.

And though I love, love the prose of the book, The Great Gatsby is a frustrating book for me. I adore how Fitzgerald can turn a phrase but, man, I hate his characters. And the plot or the lack thereof.

It's like if Shakespeare had written a play version of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

I think that is my favorite description of The Great Gatsby that I have ever heard.

Good Fellas was so. Boring. :\

I wanted to like it too, I thought it was going to be more action-y, but it was a soap opera that suddenly ended. Or maybe there was a ton of action, I don't know, I barely remember any of it.

People keep saying they hated everyone in TGG, out of curiosity, why did you hate Nick? I actually kind of felt for him there at the end.

I think I lost all respect for Nick when Tom struck Daisy and Nick didn't do anything. Nothing. That's his cousin and it was so business as usual. After that, I was like, "Screw this guy."

Tom struck Daisy? Do you mean Myrtle?

Shoot, you are right. My mistake. Mrs. Wilson was going, "Daisy! Daisy! Daisy! Da-"
*BROKEN NOSE AND BLOOD EVERYWHERE*

Though, again, I didn't like how Nick didn't say anything. Didn't even bat an eye.

THANK YOU! In general, I'm not a big fan of mafia/mob stories. Even episodes of series I like that feature mafia plots prominently bore me.

Aw man I love me some Goodfellas. My mother is one of those people who won't watch the same movie twice - except for Goodfellas. She'll always watch that again. I find it hilarious because she hates violent movies, wouldn't even try The Dark Knight.

Gotta love how you got to The Great Gatsby right before me.

But yeah, that book. I've had to read it twice and it killed me a little on the inside each time.
