Catcher in the Rye. I never read it for school, but as part of getting ready for the AP Literature test.

I made it about 20 pages in and was over it. Didn't finish it. It really is White Problems: The Book

Moved on to Lord of the Flies, which I found way more engrossing.

Catcher in the Rye isn't white problems at all if you had finished it. You learn that Holden can described as being manic-depressive. He had been telling the entire story from a mental hospital after going through a meltdown.

He is? Huh. I ought to read that book sometime then, see if I recognize any of the thought patterns...

He has wild mood swings, shows poor judgment, recklessly impulsive, is easily agitated, constantly anxious, has racing thoughts and has very poor social behavior.

He's pretty textbook.

Catcher in the Rye! I hated that book sfm. I mean, I get that he had mental issues, but I still. hated. that. book.

I kinda like that book, but it's SO not Salinger's best and IDK why it's so ~iconic.

I forgot about that book!

I had to read the whole thing. I regret it.

I think I may hate it more than TGG but I only had to read it once and it's a story I conveniently forget exists until someone mentions it. It's like I hate it so much my mind rejects its existence.
