BBC Sherlock's Sally Donovan. I just adore her, and the way she doesn't take any of Sherlock's shit. >_>;

I probably would have punched him if he spoke like that that me ngl. Granted, I'd get in trouble, but it would be so worth it!

Also, Raoul from Phantom of the Opera. He's really not that bad! (In the versions I've seen, at least!)

...people hate Sally? ;___; Maybe it's just because I hang out with people who write Sally character pieces, so I've never seen it. But...I can believe it.

SO SAD RIGHT NOW. D:

Sometimes people do.

They're also horrible people. >I

Raoul's a little bland but I think people unfairly bash him because they like the Phantom a lot. =\ (I thought he was a really interesting character in the book, too--in part because he's an immature brat at the start of it.)

Two things.

1. I love all your Princess Tutu icons, especially Femio. :D

2. I haven't read the book yet, but I'm going to work on that, but yeah, I think that's why people don't like Raoul (re: liking the Phantom) and that annoys me. :/

D'awww, thank you!

Yeeeeaaaah, I could understand disliking the movie/play version since he is a little blandly heroic, but....it's always kinda frustrating when one character has to be bashed because of a ship. Particularly since I personally think the Phantom is kinda creepy.

Yeah, but I'd rather have blandly heroic then creepy and murderous, you know? Grated, I think this puts me in the minority.

I was always sort of neutral on Raoul until the "sequel" came around. It retroactively made me like the character a lot more because of just how low they had to drag him to make the Phantom look like the better choice. "Alright, we've made him a drunk, a gambler, a near-wife beater, a terrible father, a weasely little bastard and a coward to boot... NOW does the murderer look like a hero? No? Shoot."

Good Lord, is that really what happen to Raoul in Love Never Dies?! I didn't see it, but I heard it was a hot mess. I actually know the girl playing Meg on Broadway (or on the tour...she's in the show, anyway) and she was just like "NO. NOT AT ALL. NHFT" when I asked her opinion about the sequel. Heh.

Yyyep. He got shafted.

Awesome! Meg was basically the only part about Love Never Dies I didn't... hate. I kept waiting for her to snap and murder everyone at the end, and then ride off into the sunset with Christine to go on adventures.

I love that comic, and that valentine. :D

Yeah, I loved Raoul, but when the sequel came out, it was like my Raoul love grew three sizes that day.

If there was a sequel there is no sequel.

As I've said elsewhere, Sally is in the unfortunate position of being a naysayer against a character the narrative will always prove to be right in the end. She is, quite simply, the butt-monkey of the series. The fact that her first episode was written by an asshole who thought it'd be funny to have her be sexually humiliated in public doesn't help.

The more I think about Sally, the more I like her, too.

Yeah, that really bugs me. :(

It's why I don't like Sherlock as much as I used to...

It was bound to happen sooner or later, especially as the seasons went on, and Sherlock still was never called out, or questioned (except by the bad guy, which means that it's wrong, calling him out.)

On the plus side, I now have a mostly unused DVD of the first season I can sell on ebay to get some extra money. :D

Sally's awesome and knows how to do her job thoroughly. I'm pretty much always going to love characters who stand up to, or call out, asshole protagonists.

The thing is, I tend to hate when the asshole protagonist is always right and never loses at anything as this then puts characters like Sally in the "wet blanket" light no matter how sympathetic and reasonable they are (they just "get in the way" according to the hero's fans).
