Aren't hipsters uber-rich kids in their twenties who treat the word "ironic" as badly as that Alanis Morrisette video from some years ago did?

Which would mean OP's parents either gave birth in kindergarten (relatively speaking), or OP is 5 years old.....

I never considered hipsters having an age group, just people who were all, "I liked x before you/before it was mainstream" and refusing to like a band/thing if they "sold out" and you know... actually got popular/paid for their skillset.
