Re: Characters fandom hates that you feel protective of?

BBC IRENE. I've said this here before, I'm sure, but I love her & that episode and I'll defend them both to the death. And I'm no big Moffat stan; I kinda don't care about him that much [and I don't watch DW, so I don't feel I have the right to comment on his misogyny or lack thereof]. I don't think her say "well, I am [gay]" meant she was Kinsey-6 lesbian and was ~converted by the amazing Sherlock, I think she meant she generally prefers women but has been with both, and is surprised to have feelings for him because she usually doesn't bother with romantic feelings (and can separate them from sex). I don't think she was just working 'for' Moriarty in the end; she chose to team up with him this time, but obviously she's gotten plenty of shit done on her own without a man's 'help.' And I don't think Sherlock saving her in the end was offensive--she was helping terrorists; it's no surprise that her life was in danger and I don't think she deserved to 'win,' even though she was obviously clever enough to outsmart Sherlock. His saving her says a lot more about how she affected him emotionally than it does about any weakness on her part. AND AGAIN, I think people need to stop attributing everything to Moffat and actually listen to what Lara has to say as well.

tl;dr: I love her and haters should ~know when they are beaten.
