Re: Shakespeare
I'm a double major of english and theatre. The theatre classes are totally willing to rip Shakespeare a new one when going over him in class. The english classes? Only reverence is acceptable. If you critique or admit a negative view everyone looks at you in wide-eyed shock or thinks you're dumb.
ETA: I love how the first two comments to you questioned you about your tastes because if you don't like it then something is wrong with you or how you experienced it.
