Re: Do You Automatically Judge Adults

(Anonymous) 2012-08-30 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
No, not at all. I'm almost 21, I'm a full time University student, I live in a student house when I'm at Uni (300 miles from parents) and with my parents when it's not term time.

As I do not have a job (I have applied for several both in my Uni city and at home) I cannot afford rent at uni, rent at home, food, bills all on my student loan.

All of my cousins and all but two of my friends (one is married, one lives in a bedsit with a shared bathroom) live at home with their parents. We live in a very expensive area and with the state of house prices (Bedsit my friend has is £550 a month) no one can realistically aim to move out and live in a nice place/to a decent standard. The economy is a mess and those who judge people who live with parents are clearly lucky enough that the economy isn't a worry.

I know people in their late twenties still living with parents because it's just too expensive to live alone.

To be honest; anyone who judges people for living with family come across as snobby to me. It's quite cruel to judge someone for something they have no control over.
