It depends on the situation. Generally, I think under 30 is ok, especially in this job market. However, the adult should at least be paying some sort of rent if they can - even if the parents just take the rent and put it in a savings account for them - because it at least preps them for when they live on their own.


I live with my mother but I pay for at least 60% of living expenses (and her car) so I'm super jealous when people get a free ride (not paying any sort of rent or contributing to the household like cooking/cleaning/laundry) and find it ridiculous when they complain that their parents impose rules on them.
