Wow. While i'm geeky about stuff (Alien watch party before seeing Prometheus, midnight showing of Avengers, talk about comic book characters and quote Firefly), i'm not a genius or at that level of OCD/quirky/whatever.

Mostly, i guess i could be classified as 'normal with a side of odd' and i do *not* watch this show to laugh at or make fun of the characters. They are a *lot* like me and my friends, i like to geek out along with them when talking about Hadron Colliders or Stan Lee....

So...yeah, no. Not mocking and belittling the 'nerds', but enjoying a show where the main characters are actually intelligent people who like the same kinds of thinks me and my friends like.

*yeah, sorry, just a little pissy about being classed that way*

I'm sorry the secret offended you. I'm glad you and your friends enjoy the show. I was more referring to people who know nothing about science/geeky culture and still watch this show just to laugh at the nerdy characters whenever they do something "stupid" (i.e. failing to hit on a girl, use scientific terms to explain something while "normal" people in the show go, "... what?" at them - that kind of stuff).

Oh, no worries. It's silly of me to bristle up. I just never saw the audience/fans as people who were making fun *of* the characters, you know? The people i know who are 'normal', as you say, don't like the show. They think it's 'stupid', and i suspect it's because they don't get much of it.

(Not that it's an intellectual show, but they just...don't get it.)
