Notes:
Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally clicked the wrong thing and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (a bit over 100) are gone.
If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here and it will still go up this week.
The submissions post for next week is linked below as usual.
Secrets Left to Post: 00 pages, 000 secrets from Secret Submission Post #296.

OP
(Anonymous) 2012-09-02 06:14 am (UTC)(link)One of my friends who likes the show wanted to watch the unaired pilot. I ended up watching it mainly because I was there at the time my friend watched it. She told me that Chuck Lorre himself admitted that the unaired pilot "sucked", so I sort of got curious (I thought, "Wait... he says the unaired pilot sucked, but he has no problems with how the show is now, with stereotypes and all the rest? What was in it that was so bad?") and I gave it a shot. And, while it didn't exactly strike me as an amazing episode, I thought it was a bit better than the actual show. I especially liked how Sheldon was a "quirky" (can't think of any other words) scientist, but he was still human (he even had sex and and a sort of 'fetish' for women with bigger bottoms, from what I gathered). Whereas in the show, the writers make him act like he's at the first stage of a disease of some sort - to me at least - and it makes me feel really uncomfortable to see the writers exploiting this to get laughs out of the audience, who I always feel is laughing at Sheldon, rather than with Sheldon.
Sorry, I kind of ranted a bit. But yeah, tl;dr, I didn't go seeking the unaired pilot on my own, I just watched it because a friend of mine was watching it. That's how I end up seeing most of the show, too.
Re: OP
I'm still looking for the pilot, but I wanted to nod in agreement about the Pilot Sheldon thing. My friend described the pilot to me, and even though I know I more closely resemble the Seasons 1-3 not-interested Sheldon, I would have liked it better if they'd gone with the pilot, because then it wouldn't be such a nuisance that he's (from what I hear) suddenly got a girlfriend and is interested. Plus, oh my God the idea of twiggy Sheldon being all dat ass just... I love it. It's one of those things that's so random that it feels genuine (if that makes sense).
But now I'm a little afraid to find and watch the pilot knowing Lorre thought it sucked. Not because I'll think it sucked, but if I see it and its that much better, I'll just imagine him going "This sucks. Now THIS! This is gold! ... Ha-Ha, humans enjoy finding a mate and copulating. That's great, let's make four hundred episodes with that premise!"
