Haven't touched the manga in months, but I laughed for a good solid minute at the first result, that came up, when I googled 'Tobi naruto,' while trying to figure out what this was referring to.

hehe, i stopped reading naruto a couple of years ago (spoilers: when i thought kakashi had been killed for good, but even after pein pretty much brought everyone back i had lost interest), and yet even back then we'd all predicted that obitobito was a thing. i'm shocked to hear his motives though. sounds like things have gone downhill.

is sasuke dead yet or is he still ruining everything?

He's still alive and still hating Konoha but he's put off killing all of Konoha so he can learn... things about... stuff from some people before he carries out his revenge. Or something.

I really don't care and I wish that'd he just die already, but I'd be really surprised if the manga didn't end with a fight between Naruto and Sasuke in which Naruto punches the stupid out of Sasuke and Sasuke is easily forgiven.

My interest in this novel dried up years ago but these recent chapters are what drew me back. While I'm really uncertain about Kishimoto's ability to handle this well, it's something I've kind of come to expect since the theory was first presented by fans a long time ago.

However, and here is where I'm going to get into some possible major spoilers, I have to wonder why anyone would believe a word this character is saying. He's been shown in the past to be a huge manipulator both to Sasuke and Itachi. And now he's using those same tactics on Kakashi. I think he's a master bullshitter who knows how to screw with people's emotions. It's also worth noting that he says repeatedly "If that's the name you want to call me" as a means of separating himself from the body he's residing in. I really doubt the explanation he gave in this latest chapter is the truth. For me, if Kishimoto goes this route, it'll be a lot easier to accept.

But who knows what Kishimoto really has in mind.

i haven't kept up with naruto since like, 2008 lololol. but i'm pretty sure it was fairly obvious back then that tobi = obito so i'm surprised it's taken this long for it to be confirmed.

also is this series seriously still going?????

I don't see it as a plot twist because it was damn obvious.

The manga has been terrible for a while, though. I don't think this is worse than Naruto being a Chosen One or the Kyuubi being his pet.

For someone who's face was crushed under a rock, Obito sure has a nicely in-tact skull. Honestly, being crushed under a rock=/=Zuko face burns.

I'm not surprised, really. Not even by the "Wah, I'm going to do a stupidly hurtful thing to the world because the girl who wasn't even romantically interested in me died, wah" ...You know, why didn't he just bring Rin back to life as a zombie? If he had DNA from Madara of all people, why not Rin?

To me, this is extraordinarily cryptic and therefore WONDERFUL. I am attracted to the mystery!

Also, I kind of feel you. You get invested in something, and then it's like, "oh fuck, where is this even going?" But despite the craptitude, you're, well...invested, and you just gotta know what's gonna happen, and so you wade through the slog and hope against hope that it'll eventually get better.

Maybe it will, man. Maybe it will. It does, sometimes, with some things.

I haven't read Naruto in 4 years but I new at a glance that had to be from Naruto.

Scared to know what it's doing now.

Also scared that other series I enjoy will do a Naruto and keep going until something I love becomes bitter and dry :[

I'm just hoping that Naruto somehow recovers and ends good. Its writing is already getting shittier, and I'm not really sure how it's going to affect its chances of still getting published. I mean, it can only go so far--all I want is a good ending.

This goes to most of the Shounen Jump series. (My main fandom is KHR and this is what I also think is happening to the manga, just hoping it'll end good, at least.)

I hadn't been reading Naruto for ages but when I heard Tobi's mask was about to go I rushed back to fandom.I'm glad I did, all the rage and laugh are worth for it.

Anyways I don't believe Rin's death is solely the reason imho there is more to that.

Actually it was the best route Kishi could choose however shitty it is.

(also i think adult Obito is HOT)
