idk, man, I'm kinda bothered by it, but that's because Kanaya and Rose are pretty much the only female characters who are strongly indicated to be into each other. All of the trolls are technically bisexual, but most of them wind up pairing off male/female. Aside from like, the bit of Gamzee/Tavros hinting. And Eridan hitting on everyone.

Well, there's also Meenah/Aranea, Porrim/Aranea, Porrim/Latula, and I think there were hints that Meenah and Aradia's ancestor are black for each other. And Vriska went flush for Kanaya right before she died.

I do know what you mean though. I can ship Kanaya with guys but I have to do it in a way doesn't ignore her character...so I guess, if it's acknowledged that it's an unusual thing for her, at least if it's in the red quadrant. I have a friend who doesn't like her with guys at all though and I can understand that.

Hm. I have trouble hateshipping Kanaya because I can't really think of anyone else she hates besides Gamzee...and I am really attached to Gamzee ♠ Terezi. You could probably persuade me to agree with you with fic recs, though.

Same person here, was just too lazy to get off my Isabela RP account initially.

I admit, I'm pretty far behind on Homestuck, so I really don't know jack shit as far as who any of the newer characters are into. I only got a little bit into the alpha kids before getting distracted. I'm glad to hear it apparently got better re; same sex relationships.

But yeah I don't like shipping Kanaya with guys myself because it feels like taking the one female troll that really does predominately like other girls and making her yet another "bisexual" but mostly straight troll. I respect ship and let ship and all and I'm not going to tear someone apart for shipping Kanaya with a male character, but I do kind of question why someone would ship Kanaya with male characters, at least if they only ship her with male characters (I have seen that).

...Also ngl Vriska/Kanaya is probably my favorite pairing in the comic.

Yeah, I totally agree and understand it (I'm a queer woman myself). I usually just ship based on chemistry. So I don't care if someone is like "I just think these two are really good together!" but I guess if someone was shipping her with the guys just for the sake of shipping her with guys I'd be really bothered. I haven't run into that but I'm sure it happens.

I don't know if I have a favorite, but there needs to be more Vriska/Kanaya.

Nah, don't worry about it. Homestuck is a series that I don't mind getting spoilers for. It's not really a series where the plot twists being surprises is a big deal to me, like it is with some other things I like. But yeah this makes me more likely to get back to it sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I'm typically the same way, and I'm sure if there was some sort of flushed relationship with Kanaya and a guy that I dug the chemistry for, I'd probably ship it. I just kind of side-eye some people who do because I have seen the people who ship her with guys just because they don't want her to be with girls for some reason. I know not everyone who ships her with guys do it for that reason, and I have known people who ship her with guys that are generally cool about it. That I don't mind at all. I just always kind of initially question a person's motives in my mind when I first see someone doing it, you know?

Agreed. I also like the idea of Rose/Kanaya/Vriska, ngl. I've actually seen some Vriska/Rose, and it doesn't make much sense but it was fucking gorgeous and I like every possibly combination there now.

There's also Kanaya's attraction to Vriska, which one may or may not consider to be reciprocated (although too late to matter) after Vriska got punched in the face by her.

But yeah, I agree with you. It's more than a little disappointing for a pansexual species to be introduced and then have nearly all same-sex attraction in the comic be played either as a joke (between male characters) or turn out to be an absolute trainwreck (between female characters).

This is why the Porrim/Aranea in the most recent flash made me so happy. Fuckin' finally, a nondysfunctional same-sex ship!

Seriously. Rose/Kanaya is pretty much the only thing that alleviates the bullshit, or that was the case where I left off anyway. I have no clue who Porrim and Aranea are because I am behind, but I am glad to hear that.
