Seriously, I was almost exactly you a few years ago. I even thought about asking specific authors to please "write this fic." But then I did it myself. I was... okay. But a lot of others liked it and I made some fantastic fandom friends because of it.
You may not be able to do it justice, the way it is in your head. But you will probably do it well enough to justify the time spent on it. Don't give yourself deadlines or make it in any way not fun. Just do it to have it out of your head and to share it with others. It will probably even be fun!
