You know how people are always harping on "write for yourself, not for others"? THIS IS WHY. Don't worry about how fandom will receive it, or think that you're not good enough to write it because you've never done anything like it. Forget about the word count, forget about the deadline - just sit down and write. Or type.

I've written stories for fandoms that didn't exist before, solely because it was the story I was searching for, and the one I wanted to read. I've been where you are! And as someone who tends to crack under pressure, let me just say that if I can do it, you can do it :P

You can always tell the passion projects from a mile away, because the other's love for the story will spill over in such a way that you can't help but be swept up in it.
