Ear Angst
(Anonymous) 2012-09-27 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)There's one particular situation. Some grandmother at a gathering -- always a grandmother, not mine and usually someone I don't know too well -- comes up to me (or sneaks up behind me!) and actively starts pulling my hair out of my bun/updo to cover my ears while telling me they need to be hidden. I remember this happening when I was nine and the last time it happened I was already TWENTY FUCKING THREE. I was thisclose to bitch-slapping that particular grandma and just managed to stop myself.
The moral of this story is: never comment about other peoples' ears to their face. They might hulk out.
