NO!

I had big ears as a little girl and my mom was always tucking my hair behind them. At the time I hated it and was self conscious but I grew to be proud of them. I am forever grateful that she got that one thing right because even though I grew into them it made me appreciate my quirker qualities instead of being ashamed that if I have a body part that isn't considered "normal".

I love my childhood pictures and think my ears were adorable. I love seeing big ears now, I think they're cute and kinda hot. I hate when women are embarrassed or talk about hating their ears and "having" to wear their hair down to hide them.

If Kristen Stewart likes her ears enough to rock them good for her! I can only hope at least one little girl out there feels less self-conscious because of it.

I always tuck my hair behind my ears. You get used to having your hair a certain way, and it's hard not to keep it that way. Just sayin'

Ear Angst

I've had not big but really prominent ears my entire life. It doesn't stop me from wearing my hair off them and behind them and I usually forget about them. But other people commenting about them is my berserk button.

There's one particular situation. Some grandmother at a gathering -- always a grandmother, not mine and usually someone I don't know too well -- comes up to me (or sneaks up behind me!) and actively starts pulling my hair out of my bun/updo to cover my ears while telling me they need to be hidden. I remember this happening when I was nine and the last time it happened I was already TWENTY FUCKING THREE. I was thisclose to bitch-slapping that particular grandma and just managed to stop myself.

The moral of this story is: never comment about other peoples' ears to their face. They might hulk out.

That's really fucking terrible, anon :( I'm really sorry you have to deal with that kind of thing, that's inexcusable and while yeah, I've generally been taught to be polite to older people and accept that they're going to say some things that really shouldn't be said, that's not something you should have to put up with. Commenting is bad enough but actually undoing your hairdo is severe nope.

Ahahaha this is one of the things I love about her! (Not really love but wtv.) It drives me nuts when I see all these women with hair all in their faces, mostly because I can't stand to have hair in my face. That's what big ears are for! Hair holders!
