You know, I waffled on this one, but honestly, all the new art has been pretty good, so I didn't care all that much. Like that one tarot card with mom and dad? The art got better!

I ship in homestuck based entirely on fanart (cause lets face it, it's easy to ship here). If they have so much as one good art piece that sells me, I'm sold. Even and especially when it's crackship or contradicts my other ships.

Cannonly, they are still pigment-less anyway. It's only if hussie does it that I'd have a problem, because then he'd be contradicting what he laid down. The rest is all fanart, sanctioned or unsanctioned. Let the artists draw them as they want*.

*Unless you change the hair. I don't care what color their skin is but fuck you, don't mess with that.

Hair color isn't canon either? I've seen some great pink-haired Roxys, for instance, and way back in the baby stages of Homestuck fandom most people thought Dave was a ginger or readhead instead of blond (because of a comment Rose makes about his 'ginger tufts' sticking out from a pile of smuppets)

I will admit I'm weirded out when John and Jade don't have like, dark or black hair though.

More then that, I meant when they changed the STYLE. That's what I wouldn't want them messing with. That's more established. Though if they don't keep the prospit siblings darker and the derse siblings lighter, I'm generally wary

Writing that post above I was remembering when I saw this horrible black rose with curly hair once, and I just was all "nope."

oh man, I love that fanart. That's exactly why I love that people have free reign to draw characters as different races; Rose being black doesn't make her any less intelligent or snarky or powerful than if she were white. And I love that people are beginning to figure that out in fandom too.

More then any of the other trolls, I can't see her as anything but jet black, and people always make her blonde!

Drives me fucking nuts. Not rational at all, but there it is.

though to be honest I pretty much imagine all the trolls with black hair if they're human. But yeah.

What is the DEAL with blond Vriska? I so don't get that. The only troll girl I can imagine with blond or red hair is Terezi. Well, and also Latula.

Although I always think that Feferi, whatever her race, should have pink hair when humanstuck.
