I have. Unfortunately, it's on hiatus. Again. Maybe people like the anime, cause it actually has something like closure? I mean, I really like the manga, but still.

Not just hiatus; it's done -- not finished, just DONE, because apparently Sugisaki was told by her editors to essentially give it up.

She's naturally starting TWO new projects now.

I love her art and her storylines, but like hell am I letting her leave me high and dry again. Fuck that, I'll wait til she actually finishes a series.

And to make this relevant: Sorry, OP, but I would've been one of those people telling everyone to go read the manga because it is infinitely better than the anime. It's a natural reaction, wanting to get more people into the best parts of your fandom, and even the best adaptations are still adaptations, and not everyone may realize there's other source material out there with potentially different content, let alone BETTER content.

One thing I will say though: hey, at least the anime had a reasonable ending point :|

I thought that she was going to (hopefully) continue it later, since she called it "part one"? Maybe in a different magazine, like what happened with Trigun.

...I'll be a little upset if she doesn't, anyway. I'm definitely not getting into any of her other series unless they're finished, that's for sure.

And yeah, I understand wanting people to try the original, too! My favorite manga has an anime adaptation that is...ehhh, so I've admittedly been too pushy about people reading the manga for that in the past, too. I'm just realizing that there's better ways to do it than bashing the anime people like...

...And yeah, the anime had an ending, so points for that.
