Yeah, maybe so -- but FS was a lot more active and fun back on LJ (at least in my opinion). I haven't bothered submitting any secrets since the move, and I know a few others who haven't either.

But I know it doesn't matter what I or anyone else says. Technophile refused to poll us for a reason, after all.

I actually left F!S when it was voted to stay on LJ and only started coming back here when it moved to DW. Since it's moved I've participated much more in comments (heck, I've only just recently started commenting in GC) and I've also submitted several secrets--more than I have in a long time.

So your experiences aren't universal.

Oh, for God's sake... I never claimed they were! Hence why I said "at least in my opinion" and "I know a few others".

But you're here reading. So you just came to not submit secrets and anonymously gloat while FS dies? Because that makes sense.

...How the hell was I gloating? I'm actually bummed about FS dying out, but I also dislike DW to the point where I don't want to submit secrets and/or comment on a whole lot.

You're so bummed about FS dying, you're not participating to keep it alive. Sounds legit.

Like I already explained, I hate DW more! Christ, what don't you get?

What does DW got that LJ didn't have before the recent changes? Or is it that you like the new changes and hated the old LJ? (But if you did then why did you still use LJ?)

It's more that LJ was changing into something unworkable. We hated the new LJ, most specifically. though that one guy hates DW more, apparently.

We were polled. Twice.

Like hell we were. Several people asked -- almost begged -- him to give us a poll whether to stay on LJ or move to DW, and he point blank refused.

Maybe you're thinking about another, older poll...?

How could he go against our rights as American citizens that way

I voted in a poll, and "stay on LJ" won. I remember at the time there was drama because people were skewing the vote by using multiple accounts. (Which is probably why Case eventually refused to do a poll.)

Insanenoodlyguy already posted the links, but they are technically older. That was back in December or January I think? But then lj just kept getting worse for comment-type communities imo, and tech moved fs.

The only thing LJ was good at was being able to post videos. I miss that.

That was a loss, true that. But not having threads compressed was more important, IMO

Once I finish compiling my fandomsecrets stats, that anon and I are going to have a statistics throw-down over google docs, I swear to case.

IDK. I think F!S pretty cyclical. We get awesome, we get dull, life goes on, anons cling to livejournal the way shitty bands cling to myspace...

I'll say it straight, I was sooo pissed about the move to Dreamwidth. But I love the comm more than I love LJ, so I moved with you guys.

I'm still way more on LJ than Dreamwidth, but I had to agree with technophile that running this place with their new collapsing threads wouldn't work.

I haven't posted a secret since the move, I'll admit, but that's more because I don't have any really good ones to post, and I'm no artist to put together a nice one. And I had very few in the LJ comm.

tl;dr It's slower here but I still like it here.

Wow. Wasn't aware people were still grudging over this. I'm sad for you.

I for one have actually started participating in comments and even sent in a few secrets since the move. I like it a lot better over here. :)
