I don't care for the ship, but all the arguments about it are so boring, it's just the Vriska/Tavros stuff all over again with a dash of Eridan apologism...

oh god I think I kind of ship it but don't ship it? The Mituna-Cronus convos got me in that weird mama bear mood because holy shit I hate Cronus so much leave that kid alone you creepy douche creepster, but then I realised I had this new set of kinks and now I am a terribler person.

Aww. I think I would read it if it was well-done, and shown to be wrong. Sometimes I like to be skeeved out. But I'm not gonna go looking for it because I know I'll just find a bunch of people making it fluffy and cute.

This ship got me REALLY confused. On one hand, I WANT TO READ THE FANFICS! On the other.... is there anything out there that's not abusive? Like, some fluff or genuine caring? (I know, I know, it's Cronus. He's as caring as Karkat's a wordsmith).

I'd be more creeped out by fluff, personally.

I've seen enough people insist that there wasn't anything skeevy about the way he treated Mituna in canon that I don't know that I could trust anything where their relationship is supposed to be a sweet and caring one. At least with dark and abusive I'd know what to expect.

there are some good theories as to how this might be - or may have been at one point - canon though, i wouldn't judge until we know more about the characters and their lives up until recent.

i love mituna and i hate the way pretty much everyone treats him but i like cronus too and i don't see why the fandom is so up in arms about this ship when it's totally accepting of vriskaxtavros.

I don't see how the fandom is 'totally accepting' of vriskaxtavros but maybe that's 'cause I ship that one (and will never admit it logged in). But I don't ship this. I guess I see the two ships as having a very thin line.

Maybe pre-brain damage Mituna, but definitely not as he was in the game. I wish people who ship it would stop trying to justify it at least. Even if Cronus acts like that because they used to be friends before and he's hurt or w/e it doesn't in any way excuse his behavior. Just admit it's a effed up relationship, how could anyone play that game and not think it would be fucked up??

This. I don't mind people shipping the most screwed-up things, but don't claim that it's anything but. It baffles me whenever people say that what Cronus did to Mituna isn't harassment.

Yeah, it's pretty gross. (And before anyone asks, I also think Vriska/Tavros is pretty gross.)

Pre-mental breakdown Mituna and Cronus might've been an item, but idk after Mituna's break down I don't think Cronus has any business making a pass on him, because dude the guy is NOT well right now. That and the fact that Cronus is a total asshole to him, taking shots at his current state of being is just like wow, really? It kind of reminds me of Vriska making Tavros apologize for being handicapped even if she was the one to cause it, Cronus didn't cause this but his thing with Mituna goes along the same line of hurting his self-esteem.

Now that being said, I can appreciate the kinks that may come with this pairing, granted they're twisted and shit but I think as long as fans KNOW and acknowledge this shit for what it is instead of trying to justify it or sugarcoated it, THEN I think we're good.
