Totally misread aunt as cunt.

Secret makes far more sense when read with aunt.

Whenever I think of Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter, my mind immediately goes to Austin Powers/Vanessa Kensington.

This is what I get for seeing parodies before the source material.

Also, I can't help wondering if Steve peed for like half an hour straight after waking up.

They're not going to get Hayley. I don't even know if I can stand Sharon if they put her in as a love interest (not her personally, just the whole thing). I'm sure there's a way to it, but I haven't seen one yet that doesn't come off kind of skeevy.

I just want them to say eff canon and bring Peggy back to him on the TARDIS.

If they bring in Sharon, they'll screw it up. He and Sharon only worked because it was so long-simmering; if they get together fast, it's just creepy. And it's a movie. They would get together fast. It would suck.

Peggy coming back, however, seems far less likely to suck.

I assumed the blonde girl shown on the news at the end of the Avengers movie was going to play her.

I like Sharon a lot, but the film's already going to feature Steve and Bucky and Natasha and Clint. I worry that including Sharon as anything other than a minor supporting character would 1) make the plot a convoluted mess or 2) shortchange Natasha's role or 3) both. (I'm already wary regarding Clint's inclusion for all of those reasons, tbh.)

I'd love it if she did appear as a minor supporting character, though, especially if she were to receive a larger role in Captain America 3 (*crosses fingers for a CA3*) and The Avengers 2.

I also hope to see Sharon in the new movie, but as much as I loved her as Peggy I personally wouldn't want Hayley to play her. I just think that they need to clearly distinguish that Sharon is her own person, not just an extension of her aunt. Even if they do change up her appearance and accent, it would just seem really weird to me especially if she and Steve hook up in the end.

That said, do hope to see her in the films. Think there should be a good chance is they stick close to the Winter Soldier storyline.

You know, I could have sworn that was who Amanda Righetti was playing in that little tag at the end of Captain America, but I guess she was just 'SHIELD Agent'.

But she's already in the movieverse: she was that SHIELD agent who was pretending to be a 1940s officer in the last scene of the movie. No, she's not credited as Sharon Carter, but her resemblance to Peggy made it immediately obvious who she was, and her calling "Code 13" into her comm was just the clincher. There's literally no way that wasn't meant to be her.

While I can appreciate what they have in the comics I don't think they could pull it off in a film except in one way I don't think they would try.

Maybe if they let the romance build up through two movies it would work. Maybe they could put in a deep, "BUT SHE'S RELATED TO MY LOST LOVE" thing and "OMG AM I SOME SORT OF SICKO?" But I'm wondering where they would find the time in-between Bucky and whatever the third movie will be about.

But I don't think they'd do that.

I think what we're going to get is her but she won't be related to Peggy. That way we get to still technically have the character but not the skeevy aspect. Personally, if they did this I hope they would also have Steve go through the "But can I move on?" thing. I think that would be interesting. But again, I don't think they'd have the time.

I don't know how I would feel about time traveling Peggy. On one hand I'm thinking, "FUCK YEAH! I LOVE PEGGY! MORE PEGGY!" On the other hand I'm also thinking, "Wait, so she's alive too? First Bucky now her. Is Howard going to pop up too? How will Tony deal with that?" It starts breaking my suspension of disbelief. Then again, if put in the hands of a talented writer I have no doubt it could be pulled it off. Peggy, Bucky, and Steve all adjusting to the present together would be cute and awesome. But back on track, my point is that I feel conflicted about the issue.

Anyway, seems I rambled a bit. Sorry about that. I guess we'll see soon enough what the writers have decided.

Wasn't the agent who initially pretended to be 1940s at the end of Captain America listed as Sharon Carter?

I'm pretty sure she'll be in Winter Soldier. There's already been several actresses rumoured to play her.

I hope there's no Sharon at all. This ship gives me Twillight vibes. Couldn't score with aunt? There's her niece, don't worry. Yep, not creepy at all.

I really need to re-read the Winter Soldier saga, I can't remember details, but if I had the power to write CA2 I'd give Sharon a minor-ish role.

Share the SHIELD stuff between Natasha and Clint while making Sharon a former agent investigating Bucky's activities as a favor to Peggy. She can pass information to Steve via text and email, the 2012 version of being a unseen voice on the radio.

None of the actresses we've seen so far match how I picture Sharon, they're all too doe-eyed, so I'm hoping they'll be one of Steve's other LIs but I don't want HA playing Sharon. I'd prefer a passing family resemblance not a double in a wig.

I'm always really confused whenever I see casting information for Cap's love interest in Winter Soldier. If you look at the pool of actresses whose names are being tossed around, none of them even slightly resemble Sharon. So, while she's the only person who makes sense I just don't think it's her.

I had to reread it four or five times to realize it said "aunt."
