But I still agree with anon that it WOULD be petty for them to change canon for that specific reason.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-12 06:48 am (UTC)(link)You can still say that's petty, okay, but saying the author would be "changing canon to punish fans" is over-dramatic and an exaggeration. It's more like the author would be making a point to avoid ambiguity on a subject they'd already decided on.
Which I really don't think is all that petty. If they were considering making the ship canon and changed their mind because of annoying fans, then that could be pretty petty, but that's not the case OP described.
