Tumblr ignores problems in it's sexy anime because it makes tumblr tingly between the legs if it's from glorious nippon.

Is that how it generally is? I mean, I don't follow SJ blogs but I still tend to see discussion about issues in things like Persona 4 (both the game and the show).

Huh? Tumblr's not even that into anime. There's some, sure, but there's way more standard live-action western stuff.

What series is this? The art style (and obvious parallel) reminds me of Yume Miru Kusuri.

It´s Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. It just started this season.

Personally, I'm disappointed that the tumblr SJWs were silent on the matter of the cartoonishly terrible gender politics of Green Lantern episode 9.

From the way everyone was flipping out about the show I assumed it was mostly faultless.

Spoiler: It is not faultless. Goodness, is it very much not faultless.

But that's the way these things go. Yell at other people when they like something problematic, remain quiet when something you like is problematic.

I suppose it's human nature, but it's depressing nonetheless.

Honestly, you know what? I think it wasn't that big a deal. And I saw plenty of tumblrish sjw wank about that line on anime blogs and such.

Maybe they never heard of whatever this show you didn't even name is.

This bugs me so much. I see this anime reblogged all the time on my dash and it disgusts me that people are squeeing over this scene.

And if you mention this on tumblr they'll probably a) Make fun of you for caring because "omg, SJWs take fictional shows too seriously!" and/or b) the SJWs will give you a big self-righteous rant on how rape and rape-awareness has effected them and treat your frustration like a venomous personal attack. And then they'll get mad at you for not trigger warning for victim blaming or something.

The fact that they have never said a peep about Family Guy made me realize they're full of shit at just want attention. Seriously, that's the most misogynistic show on television probably ever, and if SJWs meant half the shit they scream, they'd have drawn and quartered Seth MacFarlane by now and castrated his writing staff. Nope, they'd rather attack people for liking cross-eyed ponies or old Disney movies.

Of course, the fact that they're constantly screeching about fictional stuff as opposed to ANY real life injustice cements the full-of-shit thing.

Anyone have context for what was said in Japanese? If this is a Crunchyroll sub, I know there are a lot of freedoms taken with translation sometimes, so I'd hesitate to jump on this if I'd heard the Japanese and it said something different.

And not everyone who points out problematic elements is an SJW. AFAIK that's a derogatory term for someone who gets bent out of shape over perceived social injustice that is not, on closer examination, actual social injustice. If the above is actually what's said, then that merits an outcry from everyone :/

I can't help laughing at this. It's a combination of how the guy's face is so manner-of-fact and expressionless and how that would be the least efficient possible action to take.

People who would complain about that line have no idea about the characters or the context. First of all the guy is completely socially inept. He's never had any real friends and just learns social interaction from books. Most of the time he has no idea about what he says means or if it's wrong. He even thinks people who use him only for his money are his friends.

Second of all the girl is far from this submissive shoujo stereotype that would blush and treat what he said as some twisted fanservice.

I know somebody did make a fuss about it but a lot of people said they were overreacting, which they were.

To be honest I was a little surprised at that line, but all things considered it didn't pack the punch because the guy is completely clueless and has no tact in any social situation.
