Oh, Jesus fuck, I've had so many arguments that you can be racist against a white person and that non-whites can be racist because racism means discriminating based on race, not just a white person discriminating against non-whites. SJWs are the WORST.

the argument they use is always racism = prejudice + power, so I can see how that would preclude SOME white people in SOME areas... the same way it would preclude Japanese people IN JAPAN, etc. You can't just create a cute little saying and then feel like you have the whole world neatly divided into two groups-- namely, people-who-have-white-skin (the bad people) and people-who-don't-have-white-skin (the good people).

Oh god, it's like that discussion a couple of days ago where I was asked if I was one of those people who believed misandry exists. YES. YES IT DOES. People can be sexist against men and racist against white people. I live in a predominantly African-American area, and I can't even count the number of times I've been called "whitey", "cracker", etc. I've been assaulted because of my race. I've been excluded from events and activities because of my race. I've been spit on, insulted, and beaten. Because I'm white.

So while I agree that in many cultures and locations, being white is an advantage, don't you fucking DARE tell me that I haven't experienced racism. It's alive today, and no one is exempt.

I'm still trying to figure out who decided that racism, by definition, includes an element of power. (Or sexism, yes. Misandry exists, and in some instances it's even practiced by men against other men.) It may be true that minorities can't engage in widespread systematic oppression of white people, but they sure as hell can, and do, discriminate against them on an individual and even a small-scale systemic level.

And no, it is not unimportant or okay that these things happen because men and white people overall have unfair advantages. Two wrongs do not make a right. Discrimination is discrimination, prejudice is prejudice, and nobody should be doing it to anyone else, period, because it all fucking sucks.

Because they want it as narrowly defined as possible so they know exactly who the enemy is. White people are being racist. Anyone else is just fighting against oppression. Even if it's minority against minority. People always seem to forget that even happens in these arguments.

Unfortunately, my fight with the SJWs was a little over a year ago. I used to be one of them, but then I got into a big row with them and have since denounced everything the stand for. And even if I could find the link, I'd be reluctant to give it as I was using my account when the wank happened, and I'd rather not de-anon myself. :( Especially since the drama trickled into my RL and now two-sides of the family hate each other, but that's another story.

However, if you just hop over to ontd_political or ontd_feminism, it shouldn't be too hard to people saying these kinds of things. It's more or less a never-ending train of wank (at least it was when I was there), so if you like that kind of thing, I highly recommend them.

Granted the shit you're describing would be a bit much even for the SJWers I knew, but... then again, I did know a few people who claimed that if someone identified as "biracial" or as "part-Black" instead of as Black, the person was "an Oreo" and wrong about themselves.

That seemed pretty... off to me, though I'm white so maybe I missed something. I don't think people should dictate others' identities, though...

I've also heard people use the term "white-appearing", which is also pretty shitty, imo. Especially since that term is typically thrown around when someone breaks into a SJW rant about a "white" person to point out that they're actually mixed-race.

I am literally speechless. Although, really, I shouldn't be surprised.

I have about the same proportions (but different mixture) as the pale guy mentioned upthread. I do consider myself (and have always been treated as) white, though being a PWD, I have more than enough firsthand experience with being in a minority group that, yeah, I'm privileged in one small respect.

Go far enough back in your own genealogy and EVERYONE'S "mixed" in some sense. Tell that to the SJWs who say such things, nonny. That won't shut them up, but it will get others reading to think. (Maybe.)
